News update

Unfortunately I have to report that I will be loosing this remote site in a couple of months time due to the present owners placing the property on the market. If anyone knows of a suitable, preferably rural location within 10 miles of Lewes, East Sussex please let me know. The system only takes up a small amount of room, uses minimal power and would be quite happy living in the corner of a shed or garage. The antenna is adaptable, currently it's a wire dipole set as an inverted V in a loft but I could change this to aluminium for external mounting if required. It uses about 4-5GB of data transfer each month and I'd be happy to contribute to an upgraded internet package if needed.

If you know anyone in Southeast UK who may be interested please get in contact

A very good indicator of HF propagation especially E layer activity is the internationally recognised CB or 11m calling frequency on 27.555 USB. If there's nothing happening on this one it's unlikely that any higher bands are open. Equipment is a Yaesu FRG-7700, half wave dipole and Windows Media Encoder.
A complete list of CB country prefixes can be found here.
